Checks metadata, comments/annotations, forms, links, attachments, JavaScript/actions, signatures and pages without selectable text.
Clean for sharing
Create a fresh copy with the hidden or interactive structures you select removed.
Removing all annotations also removes links and form widgets. Any sanitized export modifies the PDF and can invalidate an existing certificate-based digital signature. Sanitization cannot remove information that is visibly printed as ordinary page content.
Verified secure redaction
Find sensitive text, burn it into the page image, rebuild the affected pages and verify that the searched text is no longer extractable.
For security, the redacted export is rebuilt entirely as page images. This deliberately removes the original text layer, links, forms and other interactive content so the redaction is not merely a black rectangle over recoverable text.
Password protect
Encrypt a PDF locally with AES-256 using a password.
Password encryption is handled locally by qpdf WebAssembly. Keep the password somewhere safe; WhatPDF cannot recover it.

Preserves selectable text and vectors. Some PDFs will shrink only slightly, or not at all.
Strong compression
Rasterize pages locally and rebuild a smaller image-based PDF.
Strong compression flattens each page. Text will no longer be selectable/searchable. Links, forms, layers and accessibility structure may be lost.
